Indonesia-Korea (a Cross Culture Understanding Class)

From now on, I will not only post about something related to TEFL but I plan to colour up this blog with Indonesia-Korea corner. Supposed it is a cross culture understanding class. LOL.

Many people in Indonesia, especially young people for the recent ten years has been attacked by a Halyu syndrome. The Korean wave has spread out through K-pop and Korean dramas. Now there are abundant Korean restaurants around us which offer the special food from the country such as Kimchi, ramyun, Bulgogi and etc.

Reviewing that phenomena, my friend and I (Istiqomah Nur Rahmawati from UPI) did a tiny work related on the use of K dramas to advance students' vocabulary. That work then was presented in the second world extensive reading congress in 2013 at Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea. The article can be found in this proceeding on page 141:

To be able to participate in that event, I started learning Korean. And that was how the story started. LOL
Then, I decided to write about Indonesia-Korea in this blog. Hope you find it interesting :)
